How to promote a webinar and get more registrants

A few days ago we told you how to set up your first successful webinar and we said we would publish a new article to help you promote your webinar and reach more people. Here it is! After understanding what a webinar is, why include it in your marketing strategy and know all the tools that are available, we are going to give you some ideas to promote your webinar and get as many participants as possible.

Promotional weapons

People are not going to come to your call by infuse science (ok, maybe a percentage of them will, but they will be the least). You have to promote your webinar:

Social networks

social media campaigns

Post it on as many social networks as you have, as long as your target audience is on them. Facebook, Twitter and don’t forget LinkedIn, since it is the network of professionals, you will get a lot of repercussion. Do you know the LinkedIn groups? Surely many of them fit with the theme of your webinar and you will get registrations by sharing it with them. Also look for forums where you can share it. In any case, do not forget to put the link for registration, date, time and topic.

Newsletter

We cannot leave out the use of the newsletter. Your database is a great source of future subscribers, of course. And it is also likely that, thanks to the webinar, you will get even more subscribers eager to learn about new events. The email you send must contain certain fundamental elements:

  • Name and subject of the webinar
  • Brief explanation of the points to be discussed
  • Related image
  • A button leading to the registration page
  • Date and time
  • Any requirements that must be met by those targeted (using a certain version of the operating system, speaker configuration…).
  • Whether it is free or paid and, if so, the final price

Advertising

Consider investing a small amount of money in Google Adwords or Facebook Ads to reach more people. With the first tool you can choose to reach people according to their location or language, appear on mobile devices, with related searches or pay to have space in a side banner. But we love Facebook Ads, as it allows a greater audience segmentation and with a small budget you can have a great reach. Twitter Ads or Instagram advertising are also available. In any case, the most important thing is that the ad leads to a landing page with all the information about the webinar and the link to register.

Seeking allies

If you are going to talk about a specific product, you can propose a partnership, a newsletter or share it on your channels. If you think the webinar is innovative or of sufficient relevance, don’t hesitate to send a small press release to the media or blogs in the sector, to companies whose employees may require this information, schools and universities… It all depends on the topic you are going to deal with: think about who is interested, where you can find your “concentrated” target, how to reach them and take advantage of it.

When the big day comes…

Introduce yourself, introduce the topic to be discussed and show a small outline of the contents, give the talk -always controlling the time-, answer the questions of the attendees at the end, don’t forget to tell them the related services you can offer and how they can contact you in case they need more details, and say goodbye. Don’t forget to record it! If the selected platform gives you that option, of course, because it is very interesting material that you can pass on to other clients, share on networks, etc.
