Wavelenght, Mailchimp’s app to get to know your subscribers

If your list has more than 100 registered subscribers and you have already sent them 2 or more campaigns, you can use this application developed by Mailchimp. Wavelength is a great benchmarking tool that helps those of us with Mailchimp accounts to compare our list with those of other Mailchimp users and find out what other newsletters our subscribers are subscribed to. In this way, you can find out what Mailchimp users similar to you are doing and know the tastes and interests of your subscribers, of course, completely anonymously for the latter. We recommend using this app to improve the performance of your campaigns, your image and to know what else your subscribers receive in their email accounts in addition to your campaigns in order to get aesthetic ideas, look for new topics or find market niches.

How to use Wavelength?

  1. To use it you must have a Manager level and 100 subscribers. You must start by logging into the Wavelenght website and connect your list to the app.

  1. After giving permission, a window will appear from which you have to indicate which list you want to compare, in which thematic it fits and the type of content that is sent to it. Wavelength will start analyzing it after clicking on View My Wavelength. According to the app, it will use no more and no less than one million lists with 800 million emails and the process should not take more than 30 seconds.

  2. Choose the one that catches your attention, click on it and you will be able to see other campaigns sent to subscribers on your list by other Mailchimp accounts. It also gives you the option of subscribing to these campaigns and checking first-hand what they send. Each list can yield very different results.

What can you do with that information?

Your subscribers may receive other newsletters in the field you deal with or on very different topics. For example, in our newsletter we may have subscribers who receive more campaigns about email marketing and SEO but also about sports, gastronomy, travel… Who knows! Seize the opportunity: What do others do that you have not yet included in your campaigns? Maybe it’s courses, buttons to follow you on social networks or including a map with your location. Get ideas to renew your image, deal with new topics, incorporate other fields, etc. You can also contact the senders of these newsletters and propose different synergies such as cross-sending, mentioning each other and linking to each other in your next campaign, exchanges on social networks and even, if you have a blog, you can write an article. Since you share subscribers, why not arouse their interest together?
